Since 28 September 2009, the City of Nantes has become a "Cities - Human Rights" Pole in collaboration with the UNPD (United Nations Programme Development) within the framework of the Cities against Poverty World Alliance.


So the International permanent Secretariat Human Rights and local governments (SPIDH) has been given the charge of providing the monitoring of the relations between the City of Nantes and the UNPD and also the relations within the Cities against Poverty World Alliance.
